Stephen Engblom is an architect who has spent decades practicing urban design and planning. As a registered architect, urban planner, and designer, he has collaborated with cities and communities in the SF Bay region, across the USA and worldwide. His achievements include successfully bridging the corporate and academic worlds, developing and executing successful corporate growth strategies, building strong client and professional relationships, all while delivering financial results. Stephen has also built strong community ties and mentored generations of urbanists.

With his deep technical knowledge, global network, and years of management experience, Stephen has a history of delivering equitable, environmental, and economic strategies and masterplans for public and private sector clients. He works across disciplines to develop out-of-the-box solutions, and his approach has proven successful in his previous roles.

As Senior Managing Director at CBRE, he helped launch the world's largest Real Estate Consultancy's first-ever public sector-facing practice. As Executive Vice President at AECOM, he developed AECOM Cities, a cross-disciplinary approach to growing business using a holistic client-centered approach to planning, designing, and implementing urban infrastructure projects in cities around the world.

Stephen currently teaches a graduate course on Resilience in Real Estate Development at UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design and serves on numerous boards and advisory councils. He is actively involved in a wide range of civic engagement.
