Twin Peaks House
A reimagined view home in San Francisco, California
Nestled above the captivating San Francisco skyline on the picturesque Pemberton steps, the Twin Peaks House, a mid-century modernist gem, underwent a thoughtful renovation journey to embrace the essence of timeless minimalism.
Built in 1949 with an upper-floor addition in 1959, the house had good volume and a solid structural foundation but needed a coherent floor plan and modernized systems.
While the renovation required a complete interior update, we were mindful of costs and focused on crafting a timeless aesthetic. This design ethos pays homage to the original mid-century charm while enabling a modern lifestyle.

To optimize the space, the upper level was dedicated to public areas - the living area, kitchen, and dining room - which now offer sweeping views for a warm and inviting atmosphere. The lower-level, thoughtfully redesigned, houses the primary suite and guest rooms, providing privacy and tranquility. The seamless flow from the kitchen to the enchanting rear garden creates an ideal space for relaxed indoor/outdoor gatherings.
This renovation is a celebration of the home's story, reimagined for a new era of homeowners who appreciate the essence of timeless design, but expect modern conveniences.
